Dan Gillmor, author of 'We, the Media' and director of the
Center for Citizen Media, kicks off the Conversation Series with moderator J.D. Lasica, co-founder of
Ourmedia.org
and author of 'Darknet.' Together, they engage the audience in an interactive discussion about
citizen journalism, emerging media forms, ethics and standards, and the interplay between mainstream
media and bloggers. Lively discussions and exhanges of ideas ensued in the forum which was well attended by community residents, current and ex-journalists, bloggers and of course citizen journalists. The event was blogged live simultaneously by Lisa Padilla of Information Colony.com -- a wonderful act of citizen journalism in action. Lisa is also Associate Director of Ourmedia.org.
