Bruno Barbey's China Show

featuring images of 'China since 1973', when he joined the French President
George Pompidou’s official visit to China. Viewing by appointment

Malaysia Rattled by Joshua Wong

Malaysia denies entry to 18 year-old Joshua Wong, a prominent Hong Kong democracy activist
on Tuesday in what critics called an act of political censorship by the Malaysian
government, apparently with pressure from the Chinese government.

Wong is invited to speak at forums in cities across Malaysia from Tuesday to Friday,
hosted by activist groups including Malaysia Youth and Student Democratic Movement,
to commemorate the 26th anniversary of the June 4 Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989.

Lennon Wall Continues

Lennon Wall in Hong Kong refers to the democratic mosaic wall created during the
Umbrella Movement with tens of thousands of post-it notes demanding democracy
and real suffrage. It is one of the major landmark at Admiralty Occupy zone
and now continues at Umbrella Festival.

Sad Songs on June 4

Over a hundred college students are committed to spreading the sad songs on
June 4 Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989, in all 18 districts of Hong Kong
dressed in black, to express how our youth feels about the atrocity.

Foreign Forces

Singaporean artist Marla Bendini, dressed in the distinctive "Sarong Kebaya"
uniform worn by flight attendents of Singapore Airlines and holding a broken

Three-faced Ushnishavijaya

A wooden statue of Three-faced Ushnishavijaya, with eight arms, is on display at
the Exhibition of over 100 Buddhist Tangka Art and Tibetan Buddhist
Handicrafts at Hong Kong Art Centre on 20-25 May.

Tangka is a Tibetan Buddhist painting on cotton, or silk applique, usually
depicting a Buddhist deity, scene, or mandala.

Tanya Stubbles Ignites

Beyond the Sound

Cécile Talec explores the perception of space in its sound dimension with
Panoramic Poliphonix at Beyond the Sound, a new media art exhibition,
at Comix Home Base from 8 May to 8 June. The works confront the viewers

Antoine Rameau's Essence

French artist Antoine Rameau shows his favourite work 'House of Holy Spirits'
at his exhibition titled 'The Essence' displaying unique collage style of
evocative images of mixed origins, namely Western- and Asian-inspired
pop art, comics, street art and recycled art.

The exhibition at Karin Weber Gallery at 20 Aberdeen Street runs till 18 May
and is part of the French May program.

Hong Kong Phooey Resurrected

The mosaic of 1970s American cartoon character Hong Kong Phooey — a mask-wearing dog
who is an expert in kung fu — is resurrected by high-profile French street artist Invader,
after being removed from a city wall last year by the Hong Kong authority.

A ceramic mosaic re-made has fetched US$307,000 at a Sotheby's auction in January,
a new record for its French creator. Invader is having an exhibition of his work
titled 'Wipe Out' at PMQ until 17 May as part of the French May program and a
sweet revenge against the local authority.

Windmills of Kinderdijk

Kinderdijk is situated in a polder (low-lying plain) at the confluence of River Lek
and Noord. To drain the polder, a system of 19 windmills was built around 1740.
This group of mills is the largest concentration of old windmills in the
Netherlands. They have been named a UNESCO World Heritage since 1997.

Tulips at Keukenhorf Gardens

Keukenhof (Kitchen garden), also known as the Garden of Europe, is one of the world's
largest flower gardens. It is in the small town of Lisse, the Netherlands. About
7 million flower bulbs are planted annually in an area of 32 hectares (79 acres).

Keukenhof is open annually from mid-March to mid-May.

Tulips Tulips Everywhere

Bright bunches of tulips may be the definitive symbol of the Netherlands and
as soon as you step out of Amsterdam's Schiphol airport, you are greeted
with picturesque circles of the blooming flower with the 'I Amsterdam'
art installation as the background.

Tulips originally came from the Ottoman Empire, and their name literally means
turban. Tulips first gained popularity in Holland in 1593 when Carolus Clusius
became the Head Botanist at the University of Leiden.

All Seeing Eyes at Swayambhunath

The mysterious eyes on stupas face the four cardinal directions, plus the third eye
above symbolizing the all-seeing wisdom of the Buddha. The iconic Swayambhunath
Temple (aka Monkey Temple owing to the many holy monkeys living there) complex
on a hill west of Kathmandu has been badly hit.

This stupa remains standing while many World Heritage monuments have collapsed
during the recent 7.9 magnitude earthquake in Nepal. Please help and

Gateway to Mul Chowk in Patan

South of the former palace of the Malal kings, the current Patan Museum, a gateway
opens into the stately Mul Chowk (square), the largest and oldest of the palace's
three main squares, which was built in 1665 by Srinivasa Malla.

It is believed to have collapsed together with many World Heritage monuments
during the recent 7.9 magnitude earthquake in Nepal. Please help and
