Evangelical Church

The Evangelical Church (Romanian: Biserica Evanghelica) is a
Gothic church on Plaza Huet in Sibiu, Romania, a beautifully
restored Saxon town with cobbled streets and Baroque squares.
In 2007, Sibiu was the first Romanian city to be named a
Capital of Culture of the European Union.

Clock Tower of Sighisora

The Clock Tower of Sighisoara is the main entry point to the citadel.
The 64 meters tower is visible from almost every corner of the city,
and served as the town hall until 1556. It's considered one of the
most expressive clock tower in the whole Transylvania.

The UNESCO-protected citadel was reputedly the birthplace of
Vlad Tepes (aka Dracula).

Brasov Council Square

The Brasov Council Square (Piata Sfatului in Romanian) has held
annual markets since 1364, being visited by merchants from the
country and abroad. The colourful houses surrounding the square
speak of a rich history. The Council House, built in 1420, is
in the middle of the square.

Visual Disobedience

'Visual Disobedience', by American street artist Shepard Fairey,
pays homage to the massive civil disobedience of the Umbrella
Movement in Hong Kong in 2014. His career focuses on the theme
of power and responsibility, featuring acclaimed works that
have effected social change.

Fairey is perhaps most famous for his iconic 'Obey Giant' series/
clothing line and 'Hope' poster for Barack Obama’s 2008
presidential campaign.

Soy Sauce Ferment Vats

Rows of ceramic vats for soy sauce fermentation at Kwong Tak Lung,
one of the traditional soy sauce factories similar to Lee Kum Kee
in Kwu Tung North, Sheung Shui. The factory is run by 96-year-old
Uncle Pong as a family business since 1946 and moved here in 1960s.

Kwu Tung North is one of three new development areas planned for
North District. All the soy sauce factories and wood mills will
be demolished. Villagers are protesting for lack of consultation
with inadequate resettlement and compensation.

Hong Kong Club

The Hong Kong Club is the first gentlemen's club in the heart
of Central, Hong Kong. Opened on 26 May 1846, its members are
among the most influential people, including senior government
officials, senior businessmen and professionals.

It was often referred to simply as 'The Club' and the seat of
real power in the territory. This second incarnation of the
building, one of the last examples of renaissance architecture
remaining in Hong Kong, was opened in 30 May 1984.

CY Leung Accused of Collusion with Pro-Beijing Legislator

Legislator Claudia Mo and ex-legislator Gary Fan accused Chief
Executive CY Leung of secretly colluding with a pro-Beijing
lawmaker Holden chow to revise the scope of a Legislative
Council investigation over the controversial payment he
received from Australian firm UGL, and reported them to
ICAC, the Independent Commission Against Corruption.

Leung admits that he personally made over 40 edits to a document
on a select committee investigation into Australian firm UGL’s
HK$50 million payment to Leung, which was submitted by Pro-Beijing
DAB party lawmaker Chow to the Legislative Council’s secretariat.

Aqua Luna II

The Aqua Luna II, which features auspicious, Ming Dynasty-inspired
white and blue dragons on its sails, will likely be the last Chinese
junk boat ever made. The construction was overseen by 86-year-old
Sifu (Master) Au, it is made entirely of wood and bamboo, with each
piece fitted together so perfectly without metal nails.

Occupy and June 4 Photos Censored as 'Too Political'

15 photos of June 4 and Umbrella Movement/Occupy Central, titled
'What's Next for Hong Kong' including the above image, submitted
by award-winning photographer P H Yang for review by The Royal
Photographic Society (RPS) of UK had been shortlisted and then
banned by The Photographic Society of Hong Kong (PSHK) as 'Too
Political' at their Advanced Photography 123 Forum last month.

This photo, depicting a protester with arms and umbrella raised amid
clouds of tear gas at Admiralty and dubbed the "Umbrella Man" on
social media, was on the front page of International newswire.
Thousands of unarmed and generally peaceful protesters were only
wearing makeshift masks and plastic wraps while wielding umbrellas
against the 87 rounds of tear gas canisters fired against them by
the police in full riot gear and gas masks on 28 Sep 2014.

A letter sent via email to Dr Lam Kui-chun, Forum Chairman of the
Advanced Photography 123 Forum, requesting the reasons behind the
ban, dated 21 April, has gone unanswered as of today, 16 days later.

Abandoned House at Ma Wan Village

Inside house no. 239 at the abandoned village of Ma Wan. Once home to
800 villagers with some in stilt houses on the bay, Ma Wan fishing village
is now a ghost town. Unlike most of Hong Kong’s rural abandoned corners,
the residents were evicted by the government in 2011, some unwillingly,
to give way to Park Island residential estate development.

The island has a long history, dating back to Neolithic times, much of which
has been swallowed in recent years by the ever hungry need for change and urban
development. Complete Neolithic human skeletal remains were found in tombs at
Tung Wan Tsai in 1997. Ching Ma Bridge linking Kowloon with Lantau Island
provides a dramtic background.
